A One-Time Breather
Benedicte, I wanted to send you a huge thanks. You don’t know this, but you helped me get through one of the worst events of my life. I did a free breathwork class for our reset group with Molly Perry. I took advantage of that class on a Sunday. The following Saturday I got a call stating that my son had been taken by ambulance to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, I kept saying “Just breathe, it is okay”. It was late Sunday evening when we saw the doctor for the first time. When she came in and gave us the diagnosis of possible brain death, I lost it. I fell to my knees screaming. I started hyperventilating. Then I did some deep breathing and calmed down the best I could under the circumstances. For two days, I used the techniques that you taught in the class to get me through. When it got too heavy in the
hospital room, I would go outside to get away from everyone and “just breathe”. Before we met with the neurologist, I went to the doctor to get a prescription for antianxiety medication in case I needed it to get through what I knew was coming and the next steps that we would have to go through. He gave the unfortunate news that my son was not going to come out of this. Everyone commented on how strong they thought I was during all of this. I didn’t feel strong, but I never did have to take that prescription because you gave me a tool that helped me get through it. For that, I will forever be grateful to you.

Bénédicte’s breakthrough breathwork sessions were just what I needed to overcome, limiting beliefs and core wounds that have held me back on my entrepreneurial path. Each time I do a breakthrough elemental rhythm breathwork session, I peel back another layer and reach a new level of healing. The physiologic benefit of balancing my nervous system has allowed me to perform at much higher levels in my business. I can get outside my comfort zone and maintain a sense of calm and poise that I wouldn’t have been able to do before learning to balance my nervous system, using my breath. Bénédicte has a natural and intuitive warmth in her delivery. Her guided meditations are always spot-on. Whenever I feel I need a little grounding or clarity, I pull up one of her Breathwork recordings and spend 30 minutes with them. I immediately feel better. Working with Benedicte on breathing has had a tremendous, positive impact on my life. I decided to participate in Benedicte’s breathing classes after my doctor observed my shallow breathing. His observation, along with a back and leg injury that prevented me from daily walks, propelled me to try her class as an alternative way of maintaining a modest measure of health and well-being. I was delightfully surprised that the breathing exercises Benedicte guided us through were simple, rhythmic, and effective, reducing some of the back and leg pain that I routinely experience. It was subsequently very easy for me to spend 20 to 40 minutes each day practicing Benedicte’s breathing exercises. Moreover, I began to incorporate them into my life whenever I experienced something stressful, such as sitting in stalled traffic, undergoing a doctor’s exam, or communicating with an upset co-worker. As Benedicte suggested during our sessions, paying attention to our breath can alter our ways of thinking and behaving in the world. I didn’t pay much attention to her words until I unexpectedly lost my job due to a leadership change in my work unit. I was so distressed that my body felt numb, and I couldn’t do the breathing exercises, but I kept trying. Eventually, I regained my ability to do the breathwork, which I used to manage the anxieties around applying and interviewing for new jobs and all the other major transitions that go along with new employment. I am now in my second month of new employment in a new city on the other side of the USA. While I miss my old job and my former community of colleagues and friends, I do not harbor the depth of anger, resentment, and sense of loss that I would have if this had happened to me 10 or 20 years ago; I just don’t “carry around” those kinds of feelings and thinking like I once did! Whenever I feel sad or angry about the changes I have had to undergo because of job loss, I turn to the breathing exercises and the meditations about gratitude that Benedicte teaches. Benedicte has given me tools that have shaped my cognitive ability to be more present and adaptable to change, however it unfolds, and I am grateful.

Discovering breathing and its incredible benefits through Benedicte has undoubtedly been a revelation! Benedicte has a special charm that makes you excited about every topic she takes an interest in. After trying some of her other services, I had to try the breathing sessions, and it was a success! I started my pregnancy with anxiety, many worries, and negative thoughts. After the first weekly breathwork class, I noticed that I was generally more relaxed and had more patience. Over the weeks, I began to feel like I was in a state of flow. I encourage everyone to try the breathing sessions.
